Ander Herrera could be the man United look at to add to the midfield should they not get who I think will be their number one target, Kevin Strootman. Herrera is another Bilbao player who has done wonders for his club. He is a box-to-box midfielder can can score goals, create chances and get stuck in with a tackle or two, he is only 23 years old. He would most likely cost around £15m which is along the same lines as Kevin Strootman of PSV Eindhoven, and is a great alternative. He also has strong links with David De Gea, so would settle in well at Old Trafford. Herrera has been compared to Steven Gerrard in the past for his ability and his full international cap cannot be far off as the player certainly has what it takes to play at that level. A move to a bigger club like United could help him progress his career, while it would also be a good thing for Manchester United’s midfield, which is not very creative at times.
