I can’t remember too many times this season where a good win wasn’t followed by a defeat to the likes of Bournemouth. the cup was great because first it’s Liverpool and second it was a ray of light in an awful season. Not optimistic we are going to build on it though.

Question

If we beat Coventry does that top the Liverpool game for Believe, as a semi is closer to the final than a quarter?

That game at the weekend was one of the biggest moments of the last decade for us, ffs.

The highlights will be replayed over and over for years to come.

Bellers with his finger on the pulse as per usual. He posts like someone who has a read book about how to be a fan. Bizarre stuff.

Question

Was Newcastle in '99 a better game than the Arsenal semi replay in '99, given it was the final?

it is rendered meaningless if we lose to city and they get a double treble

Don’t be silly magic will still be watching the highlights of Sunday with tears in his eyes.

Nice how people are now naming games that might be considered better than Sundays to prove I’m wrong about there being better games than Sundays

am guessing it's also embarrassing / small time / obsessed to take any pleasure whatsoever in ruining klopp's final season and their "quadruple"
not to mention liverpool have a history of falling apart after a utd loss

Can’t wait to tell my kids about the year we won nothing, finished sixth and City did a back to back treble but we beat the Scousers in a quarter final and ruined Klopp’s season.

there have been great games where we had a great team and we beat a great team in a great match and we won things. the arsenal 99 semis (both won), for example.

my joy over this game is tempered by knowing we are still shit and out of contention for the title and cl. I guess if we were not going to outplay them and humiliate them, then this late turn around when it seemed lost is about as good as it gets and you have to enjoy what's on offer.

irrespective of our progress in this competition or city lancing another treble*.

It's absolutely not. They're massive, massive cheats with 115 charges hanging over them. Anything they win is irrelevant imo. They won a Treble last season - who's genuinely distraught? Nobody takes them seriously.

Imagine Liverpool had beaten us and gone on to win a quadruple ffs. We'd never, ever hear the end of it and them rolling us over in the cup would've been a huge step in that. And, it'd be yet another victory for them/Klopp at Old Trafford. Whatever happens, we pissed all over that.
