The Coutinho () and Dembele transfers have ruined them along with the ridiculous contracts they’ve been handing out.

Pique is another that is apparently another they want out but owe ridiculous bonus payments.

They've added a new transfer step in recent windows I've noticed. They can then get the exclusive of "fee agreed" before dragging out another couple of weeks of "structure of the fee still being worked on".

They gave the keys to the castle to Eric Abidal of all people. Sympathy appointment that cost them £500 million? Maybe

BBC Sport now reporting that FDJ took a cut in his wedge during the pandemic to help Barelona's cash flow and that he's due some hefty payback in the next few seasons - which he would forego if he left now. Hence his repeated publicly stated desire to stay - lot's of green in the game.

He’s not going to sprint away from likely £10-20m minimum, not a chance. If it takes until August 31st, that’s what it takes.

You’d have to think he’d have a sour taste from all this shit.

[Raphael Honigstein, The Athletic] Timestamp 24:34: Bayern Munich have told FC Barcelona they don't want any installments in any deal for Robert Lewandowski and that they want all the money upfront in cash because Bayern believes that FC Barcelona won't exist in "one or two years time"

That little HGH bastard Messi really £#%&!ed barca good style. De Jong won't want to stick around that shit show.

Jesus. What a shitshow.

I'm sure bayern are being a touch dramatic but they also know more ins and outs than the general public

RIP Barcelona FC

Their posturing really is quite ridiculous. Every man and his dog knows they’re financially screwed, but they insist they they want him to stay….then that they want to sell but only for football reasons….then they want to keep him again….then start blaming de Jong for not taking a pay cut…. Everything but admit they’re skint.

I’m one of the first to slate our transfer business, but Barca seem like a nightmare to deal with atm.

The base fee is agreed. This is just propaganda to hide the real reason the deal isnt done yet. I dont really think the add ons are much of an issue either.

This is all about them owing De Jong money on his contract from covid times. He is probably disgusted at how he is being treated. Add the fact that he never got to show his best football wise either, they kept playing the ageing Busquets in De Jongs favoured position.

He will have a massive point to prove when he joins us. Great for us.

Surely if they have to pay him the whole lot they couldn’t possibly sell him for €65m? They’d be better off keeping him and paying him on the drip

There would, as always, be some negotiated settlement.

But as the evidence clearly shows, negotiating with the tossers at Barcelona is anything but straightforward.

Wouldn’t blame him tbh. Rock up the day after the plane leaves.

If it’s what I’ve seen in that bbc article today, he’s been the opposite of greedy and demanding over the past few years. Can’t see Barca settling that contract dispute in our favour as it looks like far too much money. City coming in and sorting it to both Barca and de Jong’s satisfaction.

Proper club. They don’t let players or other clubs f*** them around.

Yep. Have the utmost respect for Bayern the ignorant arrogant German bastards.

De Jong does have the compensation of his wage from united should he join, so he wouldn’t be losing much if Barca gave him a fraction of what they owe. Think de Jong and his agent are pretty pissed off with Barca and won’t be making it easy for them. Will probably accept the balance of whatever he’d have earned in the past two years had he not taken a cut, plus a little extra for the rest of his contract. I think even that would be a problem for Barca, unless someone like city step in, as we’re not going to help it along.
