With Safferino on this one, don't think you can lay any blame at Mourinho.

Depay's confidence was utterly shot, and he's clearly a confidence player, so a move was the only option for him, regrettably

I think he's probably just not good enough. Confidence or not.

Mourinho would have backed himself to restore him otherwise.

Mou basically seemed to agree with a lot of the last managers take on the players. Which makes sense as he's his mentor. The players LvG lost belief in didn't get much of a chance. The ones he retained some faith in were given opportunities by Mou. Too much deference to the Big Man tbf.

Unless they were under 20 obvs. Then all bets were off.
