He’s doing a lot of running now, his tactical ask from ETH is to make the key pas through the press every single time & not fret about losing possession. I think he’s being a touch gung ho about it and we really should keep a bit more control but if tactics are tactics and he’s executing the plan he’s doing what is asked. We need an Essien next to him, or a Kante or even a Carrick. Eriksen is shot, much as I like him. We need a proper, top level partner there either way. Midfield has been so neglected it’s depressing.

He’s not the problem, he’s a one man band in the middle of the park and bloody good.

I’m not sure Rice for example would be the answer, but if we just take some pressure off him he can stop having to cover the whole pitch. I really like Eriksen, but he’s an option and been a magnificent freebie but not on the same level for 90’.

Casemiro has shown me right up with regards to his full range, thought he was the Makalele, he’s an absolute Rolls Royce & leader. Immense footballer. Can surely play this well for 3-4 more years these days no problem.

Would give him the armband.
