Fergie tried that by sticking Rooney on Busquets in the Champion's League final, whilst Hernandez was tasked with pressing the centre-backs into playing the long ball, or forcing them to give it to Busquets who would in turn be under pressure from Rooney.

The same thing is happening at Bayern with Lahm.
