Discussing it on Sunday Supplement now in a gentle softly, softly tone akin to a parent telling their 5 year old daughter that her pet rabbit has died. 'Poor Liverpool, POOR, POOR Liverpool'.

Naturally evil Utd fans are copping it over yesterday and the trouble and disrepect they shall no doubt exhibit next week.

@#%&!s.

Thank that senile old @#%&! for that!

Instead of coming out defending our fans, pointing out that the song isn't about Hillsborough he's hung us out to dry

from the guardian comments section. it seems this report exonerates them for heysel too

Quote:
Heysel remains a disaster that also demands deeper examination. The prevailing consensus that "Liverpool hooligans" were solely responsible for that tragedy is way off the mark. The mangled barriers of Sections X & Y stood as evidence of a disaster that may have easily occurred in those blocks before and during the actual disaster in Section Z. Some of the same questions many now ask of the authorities regarding Hillsborough must also be asked of those responsible for Heysel. Who at UEFA choose and authorized Heysel as a venue -- did any money change hands in the award of the final to Brussels? Who was responsible for the under and unmanned ticket entrances at Heysel Stadium? Who at UEFA was responsible for issuing more tickets to Juventus than Liverpool -- did money change hands for this 'favour'? Why was it that the authorities choose to collect flag poles from supporters 500 yards before the entrance, yet have not bother to collect tickets at the rudimentary turnstiles? Who at Brussels City Council oversaw the safety of the stadium? If such an authority did exist, how did it allow tens of thousands of people to mass on crumbling concrete steps that were constantly giving way as the number of supporters grew in X&Y? Who was the Belgian police commander in charge on that night and what orders did he or she give in advance of the crush X & Y? Did the authorities even notice? During the overflow of people from X & Y into Z, and during the confrontations between the rival supporters in Z, why was the response of the Police almost non existent and haphazard? How many of the 39 could had survived had they received treatments in the minutes after the wall collapse?

Heysel was the context ("drunken liverpool supporters is what did it") that enabled the public to readily accept the lies and cover up of Hillsborough, yet as we move closer to justice for the 96, we remain as far from the truth about the ill confluence of factors that left 39 dead at Heysel as we ever have.
unbelievable

Basically it seems Liverpool fans can behave exactly as they like and any damage they cause is the fault of the authorities for not stopping them.

Liverpool's fans were more guilty at Heysel than the police were at Hillsborough. Neither set out to kill but did. Therefore they face the consequences and indeed justice.

The campaign for truth was entirely appropriate.

The subsequent glee with which many Liverpool fans are revelling in it, and the way they're painting themselves as entirely innocent of other offences and suggesting those evil United fans are going to disrespect them is not. United fans will be painted as the aggressors next week, but we remember the Munich banners at Heysel. We remember the Munich chants. We remember shit in cups and rocks at ambulances, smashing up the toilets at OT and the Munich graffiti, and we remember the booing of Evra.

========================

Wow what a childish post.

Do you think Liverpool supporters don't remember your Hillsborough banners, your Hillsborough chants, the shit in cups that you threw, your rocks at ambulances, smashing up the toilets at Anfield, and we remember the booing of Suarez.

There's clearly a village somewhere without it's idiot.
