In a full season he’d be on around 30 goals.16 goals in 28x full 90 mins

Rashfords rate slightly better this season. 30 goals in 48x full 90 mins

What other criteria do you use other than minutes per goal? and in a fragmented season.

Atalanta finished 3rd

I tend to use the old "things that actually happened" criteria.

16 goals in 28 games actually happened

Reasonable fee.

We’re not getting Kane or the Napoli guy. Who else is available?

Well nobody is really 'available' unless you offer sums of money that tempt the club they're at.

The idea that we should go for Harry Kane or Osimhen and if we can't prize them away from their current clubs, just go "oh well £#%&! it" and go all in on a lad who's managed about 12 goals in two years in the austrian league is not going to progress you very far.

Cherry picking is not how it works

Perhaps not bother signing anyone eh?

i'd sign this lad as a back up striker, sure.

Like the way City have Alvarez.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d feel a bit more comfortable with Kane and I could well be overlooking other options. Pity about the Watford lad. The obvious candidates don’t look very available.

Anyway, a bit more about him here:

https://theanalyst.com/eu/2023/06/ra...ited-transfer/

(shame about the Haaland comparisons) but he really appears to be on the way up. Kane only scored 4 in 19 in his first season at Spurs. Salah stats weren’t too impressive at Roma.

Looks good on highlight reel. Tall, powerful .. looks very quick. Some nice finishes. Hard to tell how forwards transition here from Serie A.

Coincidentally see he's with the same agent as Erik, so presumably this is on. Gakpo was as well of course .. wonder what went on there for that interest to have cooled / why he moved to Liverpool instead.

Gakpo looks a bit Crakpo to be fair. Not entirely convinced it wasn't Erik blagging the bindippers.

If we do get Osimhen somehow, I hope we we hit him with a “meh Napoli guy” on day one.

Big Rasmus looks a prospect.

Well, he did at least, till I saw Ademola Lookman scored 13 times last season playing for the same team.
