Without wishing to sound all prissy, but that punishment is a £#%&!ing joke.
Dunno what the law says about the assault but going on the pitch is up to a £1000 fine. So given the severity of what he did, why hasn’t he got the max fine? And a 10 yr banning? Should have been a lifetime one. |

The assault being the most serious it takes it well above the level of a fine. If he was charged with common assault (which I presume he was) then the maximum sentence is 26 weeks less a statutory third off for early guilty plea. It seems they’ve let him off a little lightly by a couple of weeks. He’ll only do half of the sentence. The ten year banning order is the maximum allowed by law. |
