As stoney said, probably our greatest ever player

For me, only Ronnie came close
I was at that game - stood in south stand paddock. Tight game as it turned out. Late, late winner from the genius.

There was no such thing as south stand paddock then...it would have been either the Stretford end paddock or the old Trafford paddock back then

Like he said, the genius.

Reno would rather one Alan Gowling than 100 Georgies.

See, the thing is I donīt Google this stuff ahead of posting. So Gowling netted one after George? I donīt recall that.

In your own words "I think George might have got the first"

Itīs a long time ago.

Me neither...I'm blessed with a near photographic memory which is helped by not drinking for over 30 years

Channel 5 showing a documentary re-examing the facts surrounding his death tonight (9pm). Sounds a bit morose but hopefully the programme will include some footage of his outstanding footy skills.
channel 5 so no doubt as tawdry as possible.

It just pisses me off that probably the best player I've ever seen gets this from a so called red. The shit he put up with from the media circus like never seen before or since was enough to drive anyone to drink. He carried the team for years after the EC win because Busby and Edwards were more interested in slurping at the trough than replacing Law, Charlton, Crerand etc. I never met him myself but know loads who did and nearly everyone said he was the most likeable bloke you could meet as well as the enjoyment he provided on the pitch..... But I'm brain dead

Was that was more down to his pro-unionist politics than anything football related?

It's amazing in that footage he looks like a modern player sent back in time plus some of the tricks he does most players don't even attempt these days. Outrageous talent.
