No one said he's scored 'many goals', the point is that the chances and goals are starting to flow for him now after a slow start where he couldn't get off the mark and wasn't even getting into the areas.

I'm intrigued as to why you insist he will be sold. I mean, you obviously don't like him and would have him sold*, but Fergie clearly does like him so why would he sell him?

That rate of scoring would put him in the high teens by the end of the season, same kind of rate as Hughes and Cantona.

hes started one game in europe where he was played up front on his own and the team was quite negative and just went out to do a job

It was a match-winning goal. When your side is struggling to break down a defence like Blackburn's, you need someone to produce a piece of magic out of nothing, and that's exactly what that was. Shit ball in, flick, bang, 1-0. Relax now. Rooney's goal was icing on the cake.

It's exactly what he was bought for and hopefully he'll do more of it.

True, he is starting to do so though, Satdee, the Sunderland game and Stoke in the last Month or so. All the first goals scored by us in important circumstances.

Throughout the game people around me were giving him stick and asking for him to be taken off. The woman in front of me stayed seated and refused to celebrate his goal and even looked a little bit annoyed.
