One thing is for sure. Leicester City would never ever ever top La Liga 5 games into the 2nd half of the season.
maybe not during the last decade, but most season's in the previous decade la liga was more likely to run something like the PL has this season. at one point you had 4 champions outside the big 2 in 9 seasons.

every now and then in every domestic league, usually after a few years of people saying it'll never happen again, an unfancied team mounts a real challenge for the title

Maybe if Spain worked the same way in terms of GD, we'd see less scorelines like 6/7/8/9/£#%&!ING TEN pop up.

Minnows go there, expecting to lose, go 2-0 down in 10 minutes and still pump forward because 10-0 is no worse than 2-0 seeing it's head to head their league works on. And their head to head with Barca/Real/Atletico is completely irrelevant come the end of the season.

Maybe that's why bottom of the table clashes are so cagey and unwatchable. They go to the other extreme not to lose because those games against fellow shite are the difference between going down and not coming back and staying up.

At least in England shutting up shop and praying for set pieces can work. Tony Pulis has made a career out of that tactic.

Anyway, Jullen loves footy and follows the Premier League. Cut to the chase - he asked the question "Where would “Lestersher“ City be now in La Liga? Penny dropped - "Mid-table at best" was my response.
No-one can argue with that.

Neither Madrid nor barca would win the premier league for exactly the same reason arsenal can't. Passing the ball about under little or no comparative threat isn't a sign of footballing genius. Say what you like about the premier league but the hussle and bustle of it makes it a far more level playing field.

Spanish football is, in the main, tedious and boring. Leicester are a great pressing side and can score goals from almost anywhere. The scouse did the same with Suarez.

The premiership is in a lull, but that's because of Barcelona and Madrids dominance, with them having Messi and that other not as good guy who played for us when we were good.

When Messi is past his sell by date, the EPL with all its money will become the the best again., mark my word.

You've heard it here first.

Well then it may help if the "EPL" Stopped selling their best players every year to La Liga. Ronaldo, Modric, Bale, Suarez, Fabregas...the list goes on.

When we win it back next season, it'll be that bit more satisfying knowing we've £#%&!ed City over, with their billions, and so called best manager on the planet.

That's s load of %@#$&!s, football fans are not objective
I bet Celtic have loved the past few years being in a one team league. The stupid bastards should have built to assure their dominance for the next decade but haven't but still they're not arsed

The top sides are obviously not performing as well as previous. Top 5 have dropped down a level. The rest of the league is very strong.

It would be a different challenge for Barca week in week out compared to La Liga but they would beat the top sides comfortably.

Why would they love being in a one team league? It's £#%&!ing shite. They're basically playing league 2 sides every week.
The only thing they'll love, is getting one over on Rangers.

Most top players are Latin types at the moment and the big Spanish 2 are the obvious choice so that's why it's a good time for them and easy to poach players from the PL,s top clubs.
If we ever get back to a glut of world class Northern European players that can settle here and families speak the lingo etc.the shoe will be on the other foot so to speak

Go on then...

Football in general is poor which is ok for the neutral I suppose. I think the way things are going, they're going to need to create the European super league just to keep people interested.
