Would love to see LvG revert to 3-5-2 tbh.

My line-up is probably the most likely one posted so far. We're away from home, against a side in the top 10 who play an aggressive, physical, direct style of football.

Van Gaal will set us up primarily to be defensively solid, and I can see a return to three at the back to cover the space that could be exploited by our advanced full-backs, as West Ham will look to get in behind and whip crosses into their big strikers.

Fellaini will start in order to add physicality in the midfield, and also height in both penalty boxes. The front three has counter-attacking pace with Wilson and Januzaj, and the predatory finishing and brilliant movement of El Tigre. With that line-up, we could execute the perfect gameplan IMO. Soak up the cockney pressure, and meticulously pick them apart on the break.

definitely 352. its his safety first formation and it might not be the worst idea tmrw. tall back four tmrw too. I can see rojo continuing at left back.

fellaini will definitely start. herrera will definitely not.

Is there any way in the world Rooney won't start, though? Can't see Adnan and Wilson both picked.

Agree Fellaini probably will.

If van persie is fit you need to shoehorn him in tbh. Big Louis certainly will.

Done

Will be interesting to see how we approach it. LvG's tendency will be to dominate the ball, but that's what Big Sam will be hoping for.

Rooney will definitely start. Just a shame that it will most likely be in midfield.

Would prefer a midfield three of Blind, Herrera and Fellaini, with Rooney up-front, but I don't see it happening.

As Fuzzy said, Van Persie will need to be shoehorned in.

Do West Ham just play a physical direct style of football or is that just a lazy Fat Sam Allerdyce generalisation? I'm not sure I noticed too many hoofs forward (from West Ham) in the first game tbh
