Very much depends on what happens over the summer I suspect and on any injuries and suspensions. Also it's very much a squad game and as has been shown this season, you don't often get to pick the same team for weeks on end

If we get Hargreaves Scholes will have to fight for his place. Scholes has done well this season but because he is a local lad and is a good professional his contribution has been overrated by our support and the media, IMO. He often wants far to long on the ball, yeah he has been doing his great passing but recently even his passing has suffered. If Carrick was foreign most of our support would be crying out for him to be signed.

Let's not put Scholes to pasture just yet eh.

Anyway....

If Hargreaves and Carrick are going to be the next central midfield pairing, then for me, it's essential we buy a left winger and a marauding right back pretty damn soon.

I called it a long time ago, as did a very small minority on here.

Class written all over him.

The signs were there at Spurs but he has even surpassed my expectations of him this season-and that is saying something

Absolutely not. Very knee-jerky this, he's been fantastic this season but one moment of idiocy and one fantastic performance without him and some want to write him off?

I love being right. Ronaldo was slagged off, so was Carrick. I stood up for both.

Carrick underwent a 10 week personal vendetta from a certain bile filled forumista, though he's U-turned now.

I would but it isn't gonna happen. We are talking about a squad player who's had about 5 decent games in 3 years as opposed to a rapidly improving first teamer who is starting to run our midfied. In a year or so Fletcher won't even be on my radar as he'll be at Villa or some such.

fletchers performance was hargreavesque last night, gave united exactly what you would have expected from someone like hargreaves, as for scholes being over-rated, no way, he is a little genius, he was stupid last week but a great player who will be sadly missed whenever he finally hangs up his boots.

Thought it was more hopeful than executed, personally. Still, if he performed near that level on a consistent level he'd be more than welcome at OT in my book.

Richardson on the other hand, was pitiful.

I mean, to come on at that stage in the game when Roma where bent over with both cheeks parted, and be as pitiful as that. Panucci's confidence visibly grew when he came on.

He'll be here next summer because nobody will want him.

The best pass of the night was Giggs' for Ronaldo's second goal.
