Default Re: Dutch Football

Van der Vaart is playing weekly in Madrid now and look at Sneijder at Inter.

Still Dutch football is affected immensly by the Bosman arrest and the poor television rights revenue (small country after all).
The fact that English clubs are now buying 15 year olds from the youth system only increases the problem.

Dutch clubs are not allowed the have debts for a few years in a row. As the rest of Europe can make a financial mess, we'll will get behind even further. We might be healthy then, but poor.

Haven't Dutch footballs top players always played abroad ? Didn't Van Basten , Gullit, Rykard all play in Italy in those heady days of the early 90's
