I remember watching him when I was a wide-eyed 17 year old on Sky Sports. Still to this day i think he's the best i've ever seen. He made going round a goalkeeper an art form, could have probably done it with his eyes shut.

Bobby Robson's reaction to his goal v Celta will live with me forever.

Defo the best player I have ever seen.

He was a truly awesome player. Pace, power, skill, finishing, the lot but the best thing about him was that he was so direct. No fannying about and that was why he was so effective.

A cut above any player I have ever seen. It's just such a shame he way injuries have treated him.
