I'm thinking more in terms of this hopefully being the start of something long overdue and very exciting... and we will definitely need a sharper axe...

Didn’t really watch him at Madrid. Only the odd CL game or El Classico when he was babysat by Ramos but as soon as I seen him run and kick a ball for us in that first game I knew he was utter shite. 340k a week

Bit harsh. Not everyone can be a Tom Lockyer.

Good riddance pal.

We’ll miss your bravery and expect a full kit, John Terry style appearance at the cup final as you pick up your losers medal, after a 2 minute injury time cameo.

Ridiculously skinny legs for a footballer

Very underwhelming. Thought he’d be like prime Rolls Royce Rio. No where near and had a funny gait. Looked brilliant in a suit though

Never trusted him. It's the ankles. Runs like a toddler going downstairs.

Had some very good games, but couldn't stay fit.... Unreliable centre backs are dirt .

Merci, see ya...

Another one of those players it’s nice to have had play for the club but would have been nice to have in their prime rather than near retirement. Zlatan, Casemiro, the pig farmer…Could have been legends but just an after thought at best now.

To be fair Zlatan was doing fine until his cruciate went.

What could have been if he'd got that second season

Varane was injured a lot even at Madrid wasn’t he? He’s basically the olive Mr Glass.

Don't get me wrong I love Martinez but he's played less games than Varane in the last 2 seasons. It's concerning. But yeah let's hope he's just been unlucky rather than injury prone.
