why do people talk about the transfer market as if it's a market?

it's an abstract concept ffs

United use the period to try and bring in the players they think will improve them. this time they've targeted a winger, a left back and centre midfield as well as bringing in a young right back and welcoming Fabio back.

They've made a few headlines due to the main players they're after being at Barcelona and at the new manager's former team. The former is bound to bring ridiculous leaky bits into the public domain just as it did when Kluivert's transfer was in the offing in 98. The latter is also certain to be a popular media angle. And the backdrop to the whole thing has been the Rooney/Mourinho axis of @#%&!ness.

I can understand people being frustrated that neither of the Barcelona players have arrived, but why the media stuff is eating away at any of you is beyond me.

an abstract one maybe. probably not a real one. not yet anyway.

Real Madrid already selling Gareth Bale merchandise
