Ŵe badly need a centre forward. Hojlund is currently miles off it, and not seen much so far to suggest he will get there.

Literally a laughing stock on and off the pitch. The only hope is INEOS. I just hope we don't hear "Well, the stadium refurb/rebuild will obviously hamper our transfers. So welcome back Wout Weghorst."

Far from the worst feeling I've had following a defeat this season. At least we huffed and puffed a little bit, albeit to no avail. Was it one shot on goal in the end? You can also see our younger players are completely shot. (No jokes about Hojlund and shots)
The fact that with just three games to go we finally put out a midfield set up worth of the name is pretty damning of the manger. Has nothing to do with injuries. Just stubbornness for keeping a system that was plainly not working. |

There were plenty of Arsenal fans where I was in south stand. All sound enough, except one idiot woman sitting there with an Arsenal top on. She got told to put something over it and had a trackie top zipped up to her neck on the hottest day of the year.

How many decent crosses do we get into the box these days? How many through balls for him to run on to? We have no attacking intelligence whatsoever. |

He's come in at 20 years of age and beentold to lead the line for Manchester United. With Rashford as his chief support and Martial as his back up. Not sure where anyone gets that he's not shown enough. He's not got £#%&! all to even try his luck with at times. He'll be here for years and he'll do well (with the right recruitment - team and management). |

Exactly. Feeding on £#%&!ing scraps. He would have 30 goals if he played for Citeh, or Arsenal...or dare i say it...the vermin. |

The state of the stadium is a pretty strong sign that the problems run a lot deeper than the manager. And that's not to defend ten Hag particularly. It's just that we're a laughing stock, a directionless, mismanaged mess desperately clinging to past glories and fame, a career graveyard for footballers. It's what happens when you become a revenue-generator first and a football team second.
I'd like to think big Jim is going to sort it out, but I'm not getting my hopes up. |

His movement is poor. He doesn't offer a threat aerially. His hold up is nowhere near good enough, his passing is below average, there is no x factor in terms of individual ability to create himself, and he often struggles to make the half yard to get his shot off. There isn't really an area of his game where I'd consider him to be currently be near the level required. He'd currently be alright as a third choice option, but he is currently the first pick in the most important position on the pitch. A striker is a must. Quote:

Antony is just gash but it's a similar story to his. we paid top dollar for an unproven player, the club market them as a superstar, and people perhaps justifiably expect them to come in and be world class. |

Not everybody is the finished article at 21 years old .He has shown more than enough that he has potential. I think the lack of a back up striker has £#%&!ed him as he has practically had to play every game he is available for , but writing him off this early is a bit OTT. Especially as our wingers do their best to avoid him . |

Had Arsenal battered us then we'd have been so down going into the Newcastle game it would have been difficult to see anything other than a downward spiral all the way to the cup final. This corpse spasm we've seen yesterday at least suggests they have it in them despite the absentees to be more organised and compete. Who knows, perhaps a 1-1 draw with the Geordies, a bit better attacking play and we might start to dream of keeping City out for over 30 mins! |

It’s so funny watching people’s reaction to criticism of a player they like vs a player they don’t. Ultimately they’re all just a shirt, nothing more. They come, they go. Of course we all hope they’ll be a world beater but the vast majority won’t, not even close. What they make of it is down to them, we can’t will them to world class just because we either like them or willfully ignore their inadequacies.
I find the theme with Hojlund to be one of hope. We desperately want an iconic centre forward, and he’s young, likeable and works his socks off, but it’s constantly about chances not being created for him as though if he’s not being teed up with a tap-in it’s other player’s fault. Just watch his movement and positioning whenever we get into dangerous areas. It’s horrible. It’s so bad that most of the time he’s not even an option, let alone a good option. He could be top drawer, I don’t know, but I do know he needs proper coaching, then it’s all on him. I just don’t think he’s getting that coaching with this crew. |
