Fletcher needed a number of years before he stepped beyond that role as a pure water carrier. |

I imagine hyping him up in the post match was to counterbalance the roasting he got in the dressing room |

Lindelof did well today. He has had a poor start to his United career but he definitely has some redeeming features as a player. He often seems slow from a standing start which is why he finds himself out of position a lot and is regularly chasing down his man. Ferdinand had that incredible instinct where he was always 2 steps ahead of the forward he was marking but Lindelof needs to work on that. Mou should just keep playing him now; you can't improve if you don't get a run of games. |

Still see him as more of a squad option but considering where he was 3 months ago it is acceptable progress. |

Glad somebody else noticed McTom really helping both Pog and esp Matic. There’s the makings of a decent side in there if the dozy £#%&!ers will take this as a springboard and kick on. A few of these lads only just half way through their first season, some only a handful of games in a “struggling “ team. For me, a pair of proper full backs the priority. |

Pre-assist for the Lingard goal
Played well. Functional, but that was the job he was being asked to do. Good temperament. Thought he came across well in the post game. Not a player you are going to build a team around but happy to see a young player coming through regardless. Would still like to see if there is more and/or better talent in the youths that can be brought through. |

Before youth players can take the opportunity, the need that opportunity in the first place. Most of the time, particularly in a successful side (which we are despite the nay-sayers) that comes through injuries to senior players. He's steppd up so far, and regardless of Fellainis recovery although mctommers might not play every game until the end of the season, you'd expect him to be in a good few. |

Yep, also Rashford scored twice and that cemented a place in the team. Getting off to a good start does wonders. Harry Kane was hardly mentioned as an up and comer for Spurs, he scored a few in the resy's and then scored twice in the uefa cup on debut and the rest in history. Its amazing how much 'luck' plays a part in a career |
