Absurd rules - jump over/through a tackle - leading with a head into the tackle and refereeing how's that not a charge down.

Are they not allowed to kick more than 30 m?

small margins so far

Australia's kicking far more incisive

Edit: f*** me, terrible pass

A great game, superb effort from England but the Aussie defence was outstanding.

Great game. England deserved a try. Played very well in the last 20, but very good defense.

Overall, best RL world cup yet. The international game desperately needs one or two teams to consistently challenge Australia. Otherwise it will continue to be Australia vs everyone else. England came close this time tbf.

Agreed, Tonga and the other nations need more games and we need more players participating in the NRL and the RFL not supporting tin pot ideas such as Toronto and a proposed team In he USA, and putting money into grass roots RL instead.

Englands should have had that. How many times did they f*** up a second set with a knock on or misplaced pass Got nothing from the ref either (having an aussie reffing is a bit odd is it not?) fantastic game though. Never get a better chance

A really good effort given I don’t think that’s a ‘great ‘ squad of players, Wayne Bennett got plenty out of them, I was expecting what we see fairly often in England being in touching distance at 60/70 minutes and the crims scoring a few late tries, England looked the stronger and I would have fancied us had it gone to golden point.

yep. It's boring but Australia simply managed the sets better. And the kicking off last tackle.

England kicking on the second tackle at 77 or so minutes

That Aussie team was very beatable

They are so strict re the knock on, or ball going forward. Never be given in Union. The commentator saying Tom Burgess frustrates his coaches by dropping the ball too often
