I enjoyed it tbh. As someone else said, a lot of its 'charm' is the nostalgia trip, if it was the same story set more recently it wouldn't have the same pull. But it doesn't hide that fact so I find that a strange criticism anyway.

Quite enjoyed Ep7 tbh.

7.594/10 overall, not earth shattering but still decent.

Just finished all. It's alright. Bit of fun.

My biggest gripe was max and her brother. Totally pointless additions (except to include a girl into the gang). They had absolutely no impact on any story lines. The scene with her brother and his dad was so heavy handed (and pointless)

You wonder where they are going to take it next. Surely not another gateway opening.

Think they may build it around El and her sister (and the Matthew Modine character). Otherwise not sure what the point of that back story was. If this happens, hopefully it is minus the corny 'street gang' sidekicks. Bit silly.

Agreed.

Would be a bit weird for a bunch of middle aged fellas to be criticising a kid's TV program too harshly tbf.

Binge watched over 3 nights with the wife and daughter - I thought it was fucking brilliant.

Actually shows the standard of how bad lots of other 'top shows' really are at times. I've been a fan of the Walking Dead but it's not a patch on this.

Bravo, 8.4/10

Observations:

***spoiler***
The "dogs" were ridiculous. Was much more 'scarier' with the one creature who was big and menacing not some black Jack Russels with flowers for heads. I was waiting to see a big monster towering over the town but it never happened. Disappointing in that respect.

The episode with her sister seemed like a typical episode filler. Offered nothing to the story.

Where were the parents kids when they were out all night fighting monsters?

Where were the police when all of this killing is going on? Granted Hopper is the police but still...

Enjoyed it, though.
