Ten years ago all our kids were in Manchester United or Liverpool shirts,” says Matt Wackett, who coaches the under-fives, sixes and sevens at Egerton Football Club in Cheshire, just south of Manchester's urban sprawl. “Now most of the kids are in Manchester City shirts.
My 3 lads play and train at different clubs and at the training it is still all united shirts. The eldest lad had a trial at Rochdale last week and it was 80% united shirts. City are signing all the players to avoid them going elsewhere. The proof of the pudding will be to see how many of the academy will make it through to the first team.

Yep. Like it said, it's all well and good beating our under 11s 9-0, but last season we had an 18 year old lad scoring the winner at their place. It's about getting individuals through to the 1st team at the end of the day- city's record of that is shite.
They've spent a lot on it clearly, and seems we're responding well to it.
