Hazard went for the wage, tbf. He's a self-absorbed shithouse @#%&!, so £#%&! him.

That doesn't ignore the fact that United have made some awful decisions in the market in recent years. Selling Ronaldo and signing Owen, for example.

Players like Zaha, Powell and Hernandez are quality signings, but they should be supplemented by real top quality that walks into the first XI, not average dross like Anderson, Valencia, Young etc.

The Van Persie and Kagawa signings show that if we go and buy proven quality, it pays off. Hopefully Moyes does this with the midfield and wingers this summer. Getting Gundogan and Reus from Dortmund, for example, would turn us into Treble contenders automatically.

How did anyone know prior to 2003 that the game would change. In the early days of CM1997 I'd give Macc town 200M and win everything.

Football is £#%&!ed. IT has cost City 1 billion to win the league and FA cup

The Moura thing also begs the question that if we had 35 quid ready to go on his transfer, and presumably could get somewhere in the region of 15 for Nani, why can't we seriously test the water on Bale? If it would take 50/55 we surely have it.

Don't think Bale wants to leave Spurs yet.

Surely if Real bid for him and he's open to the idea, we could give him another option?

Then again hopefully Real are buying him to replace that magnificent bastard

Utd99, would have paid £35m for Hazard without blinking.

Pity he choose the wages of Chelsea though, didn't even have a manager at the time. If the reported wages of between £150k and £180k a week then no wonder even City who thought they had him were put off.

It should be a three-pronged process IMO:

1) strong talent coming through the youth system (Welbeck,Cleverley,Januzaj)
2) a good scouting system domestically and abroad to buy value signings (Powell, Jones, Smalling, Good Twin, Kagawa)
3) the occasional big signing that walks straight in to the first XI. (Van Persie)

This is how Bayern and Barca do it, and they've been the most successful clubs over the last 5 years. Number 3 should be a given when you take into account the revenue that a club like United generates. In excess of £1m per game on ticket sales alone, ffs.
Our transfer policy gets hammered a bit to much imo there's been bad deals here and there but that's always going to happen.

For what we spend we get the best outcome second maybe to barca, Bayern by all accounts spend a £#%&!-ton.

Decent enough game.

Bayern are a bunch of £#%&!ing @#%&!s though. None less than that awful £#%&!er ribery. Alaba being real classy after the game by screaming and celebrating in Subotic's face.

GrossKreutz played the last 20 minutes with a suspected broken metatarsal.
