very different footballers. messi is a one-off, freakishly talented with the ball at his feet, but he's no leader and if his team is struggling he often goes missing - look at his performances for argentina. rooney is the heart of the team, a real leader. and rooney has such a rounded game these days, it's hard to think of a weakness in his play.

just great to see him playing more centrally this season.

That Boy Ronaldo!

I've been very very wrong regarding Rooney.

Been absolutely quality this season and starting to become the player he promised to be at the start. The loss of Ronaldo has certainly helped his career but lets not put too much pressure on the lad.

Good peformances from the rest of the team are certainly helping him tho.

Anderson for me was brilliant today, ran the show at times with Scholes and drove the team forward numerous times....he's shite tho

Very true, it was tongue in cheek.

There are some players who 'get' playing for United... I think Wazza is in that class...

After 10 minutes today I knew United would win... great result.

No, but I had to resist 'touching myself' when he put the game to bed today..
Great goal.

Even his goal celebration is perfect. How many people have tried and failed to do a perfect knee slide? Not even Beckham could do it.

Isn't knee sliding what £#%&!ed up Solskjaer's ? Apparently it's not too good for the knees. However Wazzer isn't doing himself any favours with his Lambert and Butlers addiction.

Default if we had 11 rooneys

we would rule the world.

not to mention, we could sell one every year for the next 10 years, pay off the debt and still have wayne rooney.
