If tosic is not injured, and the theory behind playing welbeck was to 'blood youngsters' why isn't our international left winger, who is left footed, who can actually cross a decent ball with said foot - not being picked?

nope, just doesnt play well for the reserves, which if you read my post, means nothing as its hard to judge performances at that level.

in my opinion he wont make it at Unitedm which doesnt mean he is shit.
