i saw the averages for a recent CL game and i think Michael Carrick was top, which was surprising but just goes to show how much work he does - just gets on with it

You're amazed that midfielders cover the most ground?

Have you ever actually watched a football match?

That must be a lie. Denis lawless goes to games with his OPTA software attached to his head and he said he doesn't.

arsenal (h) for example.

fabregas - 8 miles.
carrick 7.42 miles
fletcher 7.35 miles
oshea 6.7miles
evra 5.9 miles
diaby - 7.6 miles

that's because he has longer legs than Rooney (and Tevez). If you had a stat about how many times each of their respective feet took a step during 90 minutes I'd hazard a bet that Rooney's and Tevez's feet would be working at least 1/4 times harder, (per foot, per game). Laughing Smilie Here.
