Default england to win the world cup or united to win the league

i was asked this tonight. as you may or may not know i'm not in the anti england/argentina camp but i obviously replied "united to win the league", without a moments hesitation.

i asked this fella if he'd like bolton to win the league less than he'd want england to win the world cup. "of course" and according to him everyone other than united fans said the same thing.

i pointed out that its all about perception and if they were 2nd in the league they would have.......

i'm boring myself

bye

I'd love to see England win the world Cup and don't mind at all the following in the team which could reasonably be expected to start

James - like him
Johnson - don't care
A Cole - #@&%!
Lampard - like him
Rio - United
Terry - #@&%!
Gerrrard - what the £#%&! do you expect
Barry - like him
Heskey - like him
Rooney - United
J Cole - don't care

You Like Heskey? You like Drogba version 0.3? Had the being a big muscular black fella who collapses under the slightest challenge down but didn't manage to nail the being a good footballer bit. Personally I really rather dislike him although I did at the time like the Liverpool fans justifying why he was worth 11 million to me.

Don't think he's a great player per se but he isn't bad and he always seemed a decent enough bloke. I'd be pleased for him if he won the World Cup tbf.

Everything that comes with international football bores the £#%&! out of me.

The thought of JT lifting the World Cup leaves me cold.

Been offered tickets and free accomodation for quite a few matches in Cape Town this summer and, as much as I would like a trip to South Africa, I'll be at Glastonbury instead.

It's nothing to do with being a top red. I've never supported England, and was quite pleased in 1998 when a sizable portion of our support came round to that way of thinking.

Agree with that Jez.. Yes I like Lampard, yes I really dislike Cole ( but then again so does everyone ). I'm not keen on Terry, he epitomises a different era and not in a good way.. but it's £#%&!ing Gerrard I loathe. The ideal would be for Gerrard to be sent home in disgrace and Terry to be injured early on, only for Rooney to assume the Captaincy.. then when he returns ( because we'll probably need him ) because Rooney has been such a talisman and inspiration he doesn't get it back.. ( pehaps he could miss a penalty in the process ).

I really want them to win it.. and they can.. but they won't !

I don't think any on here would claim he is a great player, I just have always found him dislikable and so was a little taken aback that he garnered a position of favour from such an esteemed fredster such as yourself Mr Quigs.

Nah - I just don't associate him witht he whole bling thing, seems to get his head down and seems a decent bloke.

Wouldn't want to go away for a week with him or let him marry my daughter but I'd have a beer and a chat whilst in Business Class with him for sure
