Boca vs River kicking off at 8 pm GMT.

The pregame show has been on since before Chelsea-Blackburn kicked off

Intermittent trouble outside La Bombonera. The police are unbelievably rough with the fans coming through the gates. They search them for weapons by grabbing them, slinging them around, and seeing if anything falls out of their pockets.

Both managers interviewed: Russo admitted he was shitting it, but looked upbeat. Passarella was surly and defensive, befitting River's recent disastrous form.

Perfect conditions: 22C and partly cloudy, the pitch in good condition.

River will lose 3 - 1 tonight. A reverse of the apertura game at the Monumental.

Just a few minutes from the players coming onto the pitch, which will be insane. Skirmishes continue outside the ground - the police seem to be randomly blocking off side streets and keeping fans pinned in just long enough to get them enraged, and then releasing them. Great strategy.

I've got a mate who'll be at that one, the lucky @#%&!. He's from Cheadle but studying in Buenos Aires for something or other, was a bit wary about going to a match there thinking he'd get his head kicked in for being English but had no problems so far. Probably get his head kicked in today, but hey, everyone will.

Kind of a muted welcome for both teams. The fans were loud, but none of the smoke bombs and pyrotechnics of the last superclasico at La Bombonera.

Nah. White boy dreads aren't my style, but chicks love it.

River settled well after the goal, then presented Palermo with a sitter that Carrizo saved well.

Carrizo to the rescue again. River's defense is nothing less than a shambles.

Still plenty of time for Daniel Diaz to headbutt someone and get sent off.

Right up to kickoff, the police were still holding large groups of fans outside. And in the popular area, they always leave the front few rows of terracing empty so they can flow forward into them after goals.
